DUBAI TRAM

The Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) planned to unveil to the public a brand new tram mass transit network on 11th November 2014. The tram itself was to be displayed as a holographic 3D volumetric projected image in its actual dimensions, being 44m long x 4.5m high. The projection required the tram to appear to be moving along the existing tram track, coming to rest alongside a passenger platform designed to appear much the same as a typical tram stop. The projection was to create the illusion of a real tram passing through its environs around the city of Dubai. The finale of the Tram Presentation was to dissolve the projected tram in order to reveal the actual tram waiting at the station platform. It was a specific requirement of the project to achieve the Guinness World Record for the largest ever peppers ghost image (a visual illusion dating back to the 1850s).
